The Un-Testimony

So, today we had a very interesting incident in Sacrament Meeting. The first counselor got up to conduct the meeting and said that there were some announcements that he needed to share with us but first a girl had asked if she could share an announcement with us. He has said yes and so he turned the time over to her.

She stood at the pulpit and then started reminding us of her testimony that she shared last Fast Sunday about how she knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god and that the Book of Mormon was true and so forth.

Well then she said, "I'm sorry, I take that all back. Those are things that I have asked the Lord to reveal unto me but I haven't been answered yet and so I should have said that I believe those things were true not that I know they are."

And then she sat down... It was probably one of the most awkward things I've ever seen happen in Sacrament Meeting...

Uhhhh, yah that is a little awkward...That would take guts. Pretty sure I wouldn't do it.

Awkard and INAPPROPRIATE! I bet your Bishopric doesn't let that happen again. It's good to have a really strong testimony so that when weird things like that happen you can differentiate the Spirit of the Lord. I imagine it gave a very uncomfortable feeling to everyone present. I'm grateful that you are well grounded in the Gospel and can withstand something like that.

Yeah, it was pretty awkward... And no, the spirit left quickly, but it came back just as quickly when she sat down.

What a weirdo! That is completely inappropriate! She probably hasn't got an answer yet because of her attitude. I'm pretty sure none of the guys in that ward are going to want to date her now! :)
